Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Surgical Scheduler in Phoenix (Deer Valley) to coordinate surgeries, communicate with patients and staff, and maintain accurate medical records.

In this role you will manage calendars, coordinate equipment and anesthesia logistics, and support onboarding of new staff while upholding our commitment to high-quality musculoskeletal care for adult and pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical scheduling preferred.
• Ability to learn and use practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify information and records in the patient's medical record.
• Coordinate equipment, surgical assistants, and anesthesia.
• Maintain and update physician calendars.
• Answer calls, screen voicemail, and return patient calls promptly.
• Prepare surgical packet materials and assist in training new staff.

As a Surgery Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
• Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
• Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
• Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
• Prepare surgical packet materials.
• Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
