Job summary

OrthoArizona, a premier orthopedic group, is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to join our fast-growing clinics. You will coordinate, schedule, and reschedule surgeries, communicate with patients, staff, and physicians, and ensure accurate records in the medical chart.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of medical scheduling experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year scheduling experience in medical setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
• Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
• Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
• Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
• Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
• Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
• Update patient information.
• Prepare surgical packet materials.
• Assist in training and orienting of new staff.

As a Surgical Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
