Job summary

EVMS Medical Group in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Surgery Coordinator / OR Scheduler to oversee daily operational aspects of surgical scheduling and front desk clinical operations within the Department of Surgery.

The role supports surgeons, staff, patients, and hospital ORs, coordinating 50–70 cases per week across multiple services and ensuring pre-operative requirements, authorizations, and documentation are completed.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating 50–70 surgical cases weekly across multiple physicians.
• Proven ability to manage pre-operative requirements, authorizations, and documentation.
• Strong communication with surgeons, clinical staff, patients, and hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical scheduling and OR time allocations for 14 physicians.
• Monitor pre-operative requirements and ensure complete authorizations and documentation.
• Lead day-to-day operational oversight of three clinical/OR support staff.
• Schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures in Epic from provider requests.
• Coordinate with ACC clinic staff and hospital departments to optimize OR utilization.
