Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year related experience or training.
• Knowledge of insurance carrier rules, procedures and requirements.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 codes for surgeries and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules/reschedules patients' surgical appointments.
• Verifies insurance coverage and scope of benefits; utilizes online verification processes.
• Obtains pre-authorization, referrals, or pre-certification for surgical procedures.
• Maintains and updates current information on physician's surgery schedules.
• Informs patient of details regarding surgical appointment, including dates and arrival times.
