Job summary

Flagship Specialty Partners is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to manage patient communications from registration through the surgical pathway, including insurance pre-determinations and authorizations. You will support the surgeon and care team to ensure a smooth patient experience and efficient procedure flow.

Responsibilities include data collection from medical records, coordinating appointments, and assisting with post-surgical care planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health sciences or related field.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and platform skills.
• High level of professionalism and image.
• Positive attitude and coachable.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience in a surgery facility is a plus.
• CPT & ICD-9 coding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient point of contact to coordinate surgical pathway and insurance processes.
• Gather data from medical records and communicate with patients and families.
• Submit insurance pre-determinations and pre-certifications for major surgeries.
• Assist with scheduling, treatment planning, and post-operative care coordination.
• Participate in meetings, safety programs, and quality management activities.
• Maintain EMR updates and documentation of patient communications.
• Coordinate travel to other offices as needed to support program growth.
