Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist physicians during surgery in the operating room across multiple specialties. You will perform technical and some patient care duties under RN supervision and act as a resource to the team.

The role requires a surgical technology program or LPN background, HS diploma or GED, and 3 years of surgical tech experience with certification (or 10 years without a cert). A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years surgical tech exp with certification; or 7 years exp without cert (total 10).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
