Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgical teams in the OR across multiple specialties. The role involves technical duties and patient care under R.N.

supervision, with responsibilities expanding as needed within the surgery department. Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, completion of a Surgical Technology or LPN program, and 3 years of experience with certification (or 10 years total with substituted certification).

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification required; or 10 years total Surgical Tech experience with substituted certification.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
