Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to facilitate patient care in the OR across multiple specialties. You will assist the physician under RN direction and support diverse surgical teams with technical tasks and patient care.

Required are a GED/HS diploma and completion of a Surgical Tech or LPN program, plus BCLS and CST credentials. A sign-on bonus is available for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from Surgical Tech or LPN program required.
• 3 years surgical tech experience with certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties.
• Perform technical and patient care duties under RN direction.
• Serve as a clinical resource and maintain surgical specialty readiness.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
