Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an OR Surgical Technician to support surgical teams across multiple specialties. You will assist physicians during procedures and perform technical and patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role requires a Surgical Tech Certification, a Surgical Technology program or LPN training, and several years of OR experience. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of OR experience with Surgical Tech Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties.
• Perform technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
