Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Tech to support the operating room across multiple specialties. You will assist the physician during surgery and perform technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

This clinical specialist role requires certified Surgical Tech skills, a GED or high school diploma, and completion of a surgical technology program or LPN training. Sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of experience with Surgical Tech certification, or 10 years with substitution.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgery in the OR for multiple specialties under RN direction.
• Perform technical and patient care duties; serve as a resource for the surgical team.
• Maintain sterile technique and manage instruments for safety and efficiency.

Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
