Job summary

Target is seeking an Operations Intern to gain hands‑on leadership experience in a live Supply Chain environment. This paid internship runs 40 hours per week, with mentorship from experienced managers and exposure to real-world daily operations.

You will learn to lead a team, set priorities, and drive productivity while prioritizing safety. You will work with mentors to understand different business areas, receive ongoing feedback, and participate in development conversations.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience through school or extracurricular activities.
• Interest in retail and supply chain roles.
• Clear and effective communication.

• Ability to access multiple facility areas.
• Read and understand business instructions and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead with team on daily priorities and align the team to daily business priorities.
• Maintain a high standard of quality and inventory accuracy.
• Track KPIs such as safety, teamwork, quality and productivity.
• Support process improvements using CI methods like Gemba, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
• Coordinate with IT and operations to address system issues and testing in the WMS.
• Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
• Lead daily planning meetings and plan shift goals to meet targets.
• Attend development conversations and participate in internship rotations.
• Demonstrate leadership and inclusive practices throughout the internship.
