Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee Summer 2027 in Texas. You will learn to manage a small driver count, schedule non-traditional shifts, and ensure safe, timely freight movement while providing top-tier customer service.

The program focuses on developing leadership, route planning, and performance analysis, with DOT compliance training and exposure to payroll and budgeting tasks. This on-site role offers career growth within supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or Transportation/Logistics
• 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management or related field, and/or equivalent military experience
• Willingness to travel to account, customer and company locations as needed
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn payroll, budget management and reporting processes
• Plan routes, monitor freight movements and ensure safe, on-time service
• Ensure DOT compliance and maintain company safety culture
• Coordinate with maintenance for vehicle readiness and repairs
• Assist with driver training and performance management
