Job summary

IMEG in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. The role offers hands‑on experience supporting mechanical systems design, analysis, and implementation oversight in an ESOP environment with a strong mentorship culture.

You’ll work with cross‑functional teams, track project progress, and contribute to documentation while staying within project budgets and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Two or more years completed toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting and engineering analysis.
• Experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Assist design portions of projects for mechanical systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources.
• Support client relations and maintain project design notebook.
• Coordinate design and schedule activities with multiple disciplines.
• Document design decisions and client instructions, monitor progress.
• Assist with project budget and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Review documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required.
