Job summary

IMEG Corp in Madison, WI offers a 10–12 week summer internship in mechanical design. You will assist with design portions of projects, research equipment, and support client relations while maintaining project records.

The program includes a mentor, structured activities, and a clear path to full-time opportunities. Required is at least 2 years toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering; no prior internship is required, and strong MS Office and AutoCAD/BIM skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations and maintain the project design notebook and permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, suppliers).
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support contract services.
