Job summary

IMEG Corp in Ann Arbor, MI offers a 10-12 week Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Internship. You will assist with design portions of mechanical projects, review equipment options, and document decisions with guidance from experienced engineers.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, support client communications, and help ensure projects stay on budget. This paid internship provides mentorship, hands-on project work, and a potential path to full-time roles at IMEG.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to mechanical systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources.
• Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedule activities with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Support project work within the project’s monetary budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
