Job summary

IMEG Corp in Melbourne, FL is offering a Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Internship to work with seasoned engineers on design, analysis, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the building sector.

The 10-12 week in-office program provides hands-on project experience, mentorship, and opportunities to observe site activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams; sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering with ≥2 years completed.
• Interest in design consulting and client-facing work.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical-system projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier disciplines.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
