Job summary

IMEG seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Ontario, CA for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for education projects, gaining hands-on experience with seasoned engineers.

You will help with project budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support client expectations across education‑focused work. A 2-year progress toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering is required; prior internship in design

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical systems projects according to code and IMEG standards
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment
• Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement
