Job summary

IMEG Corp in Ontario, CA is offering a Mechanical Engineering Intern position for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in design, analysis, and oversight of mechanical systems for education-focused projects, while gaining hands-on experience with experienced engineers.

You'll support budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and document decisions and client instructions, contributing to high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in BS in Mechanical Engineering with ≥2 years completed.
• Prior internship in building design consulting preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD/BIM.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical systems projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment.
• Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other teams.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services as required.
