Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks a Structural Engineer (Substations) for a permanent role. You will lead technical design for switchyards and substations, coordinating with an integrated EPC team and clients to deliver high-quality, compliant engineering outputs.

You will review complex analyses, mentor colleagues, and contribute to standardized practices while staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• PE license in Structural Engineering is desired.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience in substations or energy infrastructure.
• Experience with grounding, area classification, single-line drawings, and coordination.
• Familiar with ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC, NESC codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design efforts for substation projects and serve as a technical authority as needed.
• Conduct and review complex structural analyses using current standards and tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage RFIs, changes, and deliverables.
• Review vendor documentation to ensure alignment with specs.
• Mentor team members and promote continuous improvement in design quality.
