Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Substation Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to lead civil/structural design for substation projects. The role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating design phases, with responsibility for foundations, structural steel, and grading plans.

You will apply standard engineering techniques, perform calculations, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams. The position supports flexible, remote work within the United States for qualified

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
• Civil/Structural Professional Engineer (PE) registration, or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire, required.
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred.
• Experience using MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies current, standard engineering techniques to complete tasks.
• Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure completeness and quality.
• Works with engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
• May work in the office or in the field and coordinate design aspects of a project.
• Performs detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialty.
• Communicates with clients to ensure needs are met.
• Supports marketing and business development activities within assigned market.
