Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Substation Structural Engineer to lead steel and concrete substation design and analysis across global projects in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires active PE licensure, strong knowledge of structural design for substations, and ability to supervise teams, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver safe, reliable energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Requires PE licensure and a degree in engineering.
• Experience with substation structural design and leadership.
• Strong communication and coordination across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering and analysis for substation scopes.
• Develop project specifications and assist procurement processes.
• Supervise engineers and coordinate with other disciplines to meet budget and schedule.
• Perform site visits, respond to RFIs, review submittals, and ensure QC.
• Provide guidance and direction on standards and best practices.
