Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineering Intern to join a project team within the Grid business unit. You will assist senior engineers on design tasks for transmission, substation, and distribution projects, including renewables and energy storage systems.

The role offers exposure to engineering calculations, specifications, and data tracking, with a focus on practical, hands-on learning and professional development over the summer of 2027.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree with strong preference in an Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering degree, and/or coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and experience using agentic AI.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.
