Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer Intern to join a project team in the Grid unit, assisting engineers on transmission, substation, renewable, and battery storage projects. The role emphasizes hands-on design work, calculations, and project reporting, with a summer 2027 target start date.

Under senior supervision, you will gain exposure to AI-enhanced design methods, 3D visualization, and real-world engineering challenges while contributing to meaningful power system projects.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree with emphasis in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering.
• Knowledge of design techniques for producing technical plans, blueprints, and 3D visualization without CAD.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Contribute to project reporting, tracking progress and data.
• Support power designs and preparation of procurement specifications for major equipment.
