Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is offering a Substation Engineer Intern position in its Grid business unit in the United States. You will collaborate with senior engineers on projects involving transmission, substation, distribution, and energy storage systems.

The role focuses on applying engineering fundamentals to real-world designs, performing calculations, and learning to prepare specifications for major electrical equipment. Summer 2027 start is targeted.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS/MS in Engineering with emphasis in EE/ME/Aerospace/Chemical or related coursework including coding and 3D modeling.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D from drawings and models.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to identify and prioritize issues and develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Support project reporting and tracking of activities and data.
• Assist in power design and preparation of procurement specifications for major electrical equipment.
