Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring a Substation Engineer Intern in the Grid business unit to assist senior engineers with project work on transmission, substation, distribution, renewable, and battery storage systems. You will participate in engineering calculations, reporting, and equipment specification tasks on a project team.

This paid internship provides hands-on experience under senior supervision. Eligible candidates are enrolled in an accredited BS/MS program with a focus on Electrical,

Qualifications

• We require active enrollment in a BS or MS in engineering with a strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with 3D modeling/design and basic coding; exposure to AI tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to prioritize issues and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Support project reporting: track progress and data.
• Contribute to power designs and prepare specs for major electrical equipment procurement.
