Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Substation Engineer Intern in Cary, NC to assist the engineering team on transmission, substation, and renewable projects. You will support calculations, designs, and procurement specifications, working under senior engineers in a dynamic Grid team.

The internship emphasizes gaining hands-on experience in 3D modeling, AI-enabled tooling, and coding tasks while building a foundation in power systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree with strong preference in Engineering fields, including coding and 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of design techniques and ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Support project reporting, tracking progress and data.
• Contribute to power designs and procurement specifications for major electrical equipment.
