Job summary

QISG is seeking an Engineering Project Manager – Substation to lead projects from proposal through closeout, coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction activities. You will serve as a technical liaison across teams, drive schedule and budget adherence, and ensure compliance with industry codes and company procedures.

The role requires a track record of managing high-voltage projects, ABET‑accredited engineering education, and strong leadership, communication, and risk-management

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing engineering related duties and/or management for high voltage electrical projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategically collaborate with engineering and operational leadership on technical goals and oversee engineering work.
• Act as a technical lead during the conceptual, preliminary engineering, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases of the project lifecycle.
• Define engineering scope, deliverables, assumptions, and technical requirements for each project.
• Manage the performance of engineering partners, including developing and reviewing KPIs with senior leadership.
• Facilitate design reviews and risk mitigation discussions.
• Ensure internal technical documentation and standards meet requirements.
• Develop and implement training strategies to elevate team performance.
• Drive innovation and best practices to enhance project delivery.
