Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC (QISG) seeks an Engineering Manager - Substation to provide engineering expertise across the project lifecycle and to lead the substation design teams supporting projects within the QISG platform.

The candidate should have a strong background in high voltage substation engineering, with 10+ years of experience and a P.E. license. This role reports to the Engineering Director and collaborates with field operations, procurement, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
• P.E. license is required.
• 10+ years in electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
• Strong leadership and personnel management experience.
• Experience with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI and related standards.
• Experience supporting external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Supervise engineers, designers, and staff, providing guidance and evaluations.
• Evaluate and monitor engineering contractors and consultants.
• Mentor and train direct reports to build effective teams.
• Manage project design tasks to meet budget and schedule.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering standards.
