Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern to join our Grid business unit on projects involving transmission, substation, distribution, renewable energy, and storage systems, with a target start date in summer 2027.

Under senior engineers' guidance, you will help prepare calculations, specifications, and designs, track project progress, and aid in procurement specifications for major electrical equipment, gaining hands-on experience in real-world energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an engineering BS/MS with preference for EE/ME/AE/ChE.
• Ability to visualize 3D parts without CAD.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter capable of independent work with minimal direction.
• Identify issues, propose solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Track project activities and progress for reporting.
