Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern to join our Grid team in Tampa. You will assist senior engineers on projects covering transmission, substation, distribution, renewable, and energy storage systems, gaining hands-on experience in design and specifications.
Under supervision, you will engage in calculations, reporting, and procurement preparations, while developing skills in 3D modeling, coding, and AI-assisted tools relevant to modern electrical engineering.
Qualifications
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree with strong preference in an Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering degree.
- Coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and experience using agentic AI.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track and evaluate project activities and data as part of project reporting.
- Be involved in power designs and preparation of specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and installation services.
