Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Intern in Chicago to support project teams across transmission, substation, and renewable projects. You will assist senior engineers with calculations, designs, and data tracking, while gaining exposure to AI-enabled design workflows.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in BS/MS programs in engineering with strong 3D modeling, coding, and design proficiencies, and can work independently with solid organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS/MS program with strong preference for engineering domains.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D and interpret technical drawings.
• Self-starter, detail oriented, and capable of independent work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Support project reporting and track progress and data.
• Prepare procurement specs for major electrical power equipment.
