Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites motivated students to join our Grid engineering team as Substation Engineer Intern. You will support a project team in designing and upgrading transmission, substation, and energy storage systems, while gaining hands-on experience under senior engineers.

Responsibilities include assisting in calculations, preparing designs, and contributing to project reporting. A strong emphasis is placed on initiative, organization, and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree with strong preference in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering, and/or coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and experience using agentic AI.
• Knowledge of design techniques for technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models with 3D visualization without the aid of a computer.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services.
