Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer to apply and expand your engineering background on HV and EHV substations and transmission systems.

You will collaborate on project teams, support design, and prepare procurement specifications for major electrical equipment; occasional travel to client sites may be required. The role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote days.

A relocation package may be available depending on location and qualifications.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree with strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering or related coursework.
• Understanding of practical electrical engineering applications and project design principles.
• Proficiency with design techniques for technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams with engineers on design of high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Assist in power transmission designs and prepare procurement specifications for major equipment and services.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
• Support a hybrid work arrangement with three days in office and two remote days.
