Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a Substation Engineer to join project teams designing new HV and EHV substations and transmission systems, with opportunities for travel for design reviews and site coordination.

The role supports the practical application of electrical engineering, 3D modeling, and AI-enabled automation; a Bachelor's degree is required, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering, and/or coursework in Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and AI experience.
• Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering to project design.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D and create technical drawings/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Designs high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems with project teams.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and services.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and to site locations for construction coordination and field verification.
