Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is hiring a Substation Engineer to design and optimize high and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems. The role involves collaboration on project teams, development of procurement specifications, and potential travel to client and vendor locations for reviews and on-site coordination.
The position supports a hybrid work model with three days in an office and two remote days, along with a relocation package depending on location.
Qualifications
- B.S. in engineering with strong preference for Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical engineering or related coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and agentic AI experience.
- Understanding of practical electrical engineering applications in project design.
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D and produce technical plans/drawings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on design of new HV and EHV substations and transmission systems.
- Assist in power transmission designs and procurement specifications for major equipment and services.
- Possibility to travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination.
