Job summary

Quanta Services is looking for a Drafter I, II, or III – Substation to support design of electrical substations. You will apply CAD techniques, follow CAD standards, and assist in projects across the QISG platform. The role reports to a Design Lead within Engineering and requires basic knowledge of substation components.

The position emphasizes teamwork, learning, and accuracy, with opportunities to advance as you gain experience in the electric utility sector.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design highly preferred.
• No experience required for entry level in electric utility industry.
• Word processing, spreadsheets and email software knowledge.
• Extensive CAD program knowledge (AutoCAD preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure workmanship.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Raise project-related problems and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
