Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Designer – Substation to support 2D/3D design tasks and P&C work for various substation projects. The role emphasizes CAD accuracy, standards compliance, and collaboration with engineers and drafts teams to produce client-ready drawings.

The ideal candidate has substantial CAD/design experience in the electric utility sector, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and related tools, and is willing to travel as needed for project work.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent preferred.
• 4-year Eng Tech degree a plus.
• Minimum 4 years in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substations.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects across the QISG platform.
• Perform routine 2D/3D Physical and/or P&C design tasks with CAD proficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams to develop and maintain quality drawing packages.
• Work under the direction of a Lead Designer.
• Travel out of town for short periods as projects require.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, and standards.
• Learn document management system and apply corporate engineering practices.
• Flag potential project issues and propose solutions to stakeholders.
