Job summary
Quanta Services seeks a Designer – Substation to support design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D physical and P&C design tasks with CAD proficiency and adherence to standards.
Ideal candidates have strong substation knowledge, experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and SDS, and can collaborate with engineers and drafting teams to produce quality drawings for internal and client-facing needs.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent; Eng Tech degree a plus.
- 4+ years CAD/design in electric utility substation projects.
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Design aspects from project inception to completion on substation projects.
- Utilize 3D and/or smart design software for substation design.
- Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure workmanship.
- Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of your work.
- Research information in catalogs, specifications and standards.
- Learn and use the document management system; suggest improvements.
- Apply corporate standard engineering practices.
- Bring project issues and solutions to stakeholders.
- Travel as required for project site visits; perform other duties as assigned.
