Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Designer – Substation to support substation design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D Physical and/or Protection & Control design tasks with CAD proficiency and attention to standards.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substations, familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS, and a collaborative approach within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in drafting with substation design background preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in electric utility CAD/design for high voltage substations.
• Proficiency with 3D/design software like AutoCAD, Inventor, SDS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on substation projects.
• Utilize 3D and/or smart design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures for high workmanship standards.
• Take responsibility for accuracy of your work.
• Research information in catalogs, standards, or reference material.
• Learn and use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Apply corporate standard engineering practices.
• Flag project-related issues and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.
