Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Drafter I, II, or III - Substation to support design work on utility-scale substations. The role emphasizes CAD proficiency, adherence to design standards, and collaboration with engineers and project leads to deliver accurate substation drawings.

The position reports to the Design Lead in Engineering and offers entry to mid-level opportunities with room for growth, in a company focused on energy infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience in drafting with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• No experience required for entry level in electric utility industry.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail software.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design aspects from project inception to completion on substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications, and standards.
• Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
