Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking an electrical engineer to design LV, HV, and EHV power systems with emphasis on substation design for transmission and distribution projects. You will collaborate with a multi-discipline team to produce detailed electrical and physical designs and provide construction support.

The role requires experience with single-line/protection schemes, equipment specs, and coordination with vendors. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in design of transmission level substations (13.8kV–500kV).
• Experience with protection schemes and SCADA diagrams.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, NESC, OSHA, NERC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC codes.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction and clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams.
• Create equipment specifications and support procurement with vendors.
• Coordinate design with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Review substation drawings and calculations for general arrangements, grounding, and lightning protection.
• Develop and maintain bill of materials and cable/conduit schedules.
