Job summary

CoVolt Power seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design LV, HV, and EHV power systems with emphasis on substations for transmission and distribution. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver electrical and physical designs, switching diagrams, and protective schemes.

The role requires 5+ years in substation design, knowledge of NEC/IEEE standards, and strong communication skills. Travel ~10% and a focus on safety and quality are central to our work.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with power systems coursework.
• Minimum 5 years designing transmission-level substations (13.8kV–500kV).
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE and related codes.
• Experience with protections and control schemes; relay experience preferred.
• Ability to lead multi-discipline teams and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and drafters on substation projects.
• Develop single-line diagrams, protection, and SCADA schematics.
• Review equipment specs and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure engineering documents and records are properly maintained.
• Coordinate design with clients, subcontractors, and project management.
