Job summary

CoVolt Power seeks an Electrical Engineer to design LV, HV and EHV power systems with a focus on substations for transmission and distribution. You will collaborate with engineers and drafters to deliver detailed electrical and physical designs and provide construction support.

The role requires hands-on design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and knowledge of power system codes. This position is based in Houston and emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Electrical Power Engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Design LV, HV and EHV power systems with focus on substation projects.
• Develop single-line, three-line and DC schematics; BOM and material lists.
• Create cable/conduit schedules and perform electrical calculations (grounding, protection, DC battery sizing).
• Prepare control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and device ratings; review drawings and calculations.
