Job summary

CoVolt Power in Houston seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design LV, HV, and EHV power systems with emphasis on substations for transmission and distribution. You will lead a team of engineers and drafters through detailed electrical and physical design for high voltage substations.

The role requires coordination with clients, vendors, and project management, plus development of diagrams, BOMs, and protective schemes.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
• Minimum 5 years in transmission-level substations design.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC standards.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-discipline engineering team for substation/transmission design projects.
• Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams.
• Create equipment specifications and support procurement.
• Develop 3-line and DC schematic diagrams and BOM.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors in meetings.
• Maintain engineering documents and records.
