Job summary

CoVolt Power, a leading utility-scale EPC in Albany, NY, seeks an Engineer 1 - Electrical to design LV, HV and EHV power systems with a focus on substation projects. You will collaborate with a team to create detailed electrical and physical designs and support construction and procurement activities.

The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with familiarity in AutoCAD and power system standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is required.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical power engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEEE standards or similar codes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design LV, HV and EHV power systems with emphasis on substation design.
• Develop single-line switching and protection diagrams.
• Create and maintain BOM, cable and conduit schedules.
• Provide engineering design and construction support for projects.
• Coordinate with designers/drafters and review drawings for accuracy.
• Prepare technical specifications for procurement and equipment orders.
