Job summary

Powerserve Technologies in Florida is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to focus on civil and structural design for electrical substations, collaborating with our electrical engineers and project teams to deliver complete, constructible designs.

This full-time, remote role enables you to work from your Florida home office, with occasional site visits within the state, and a pathway to PE licensure within 2–3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in civil/structural design (substation or utility experience preferred).
• Proficiency with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design civil and structural components of electrical substations.
• Prepare and review foundation designs, structural layouts, site grading, drainage and erosion control plans.
• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and code compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and constructibility.
