Job summary

Powerserve Technologies in Florida is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to design civil and structural aspects of electrical substations. This remote, Florida-based role collaborates with electrical engineers and project teams to deliver safe, constructible designs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in civil/structural engineering, 3+ years of design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D/STAAD, and a PE license is preferred with licensure pursued within 2–3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of civil/structural design experience (substation/utility background preferred).
• Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or STAAD.
• Understanding of structural analysis, foundations, and site development.
• PE license preferred; willing to obtain licensure within 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

• Design civil and structural components of electrical substations.
• Prepare and review foundation designs, structural layouts, site grading, drainage plans.
• Perform engineering calculations and code compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure feasible designs.
• Provide occasional field support during construction in Florida.
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals.
