Job summary

Powerserve Technologies in Florida is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to deliver civil and structural designs for electrical substations. You will work with the electrical team to produce complete, constructible designs and ensure code compliance.

This remote role supports projects across Florida, with occasional site visits. A Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering and 3+ years of relevant design experience are required; PE is preferred and licensure within 2–3 years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years of civil/structural design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, or similar.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and site development.
• Ability to work in an EPC/project-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Design civil and structural components of substations.
• Prepare and review foundation designs, structural layouts, site plans.
• Perform engineering calculations and code compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, and permitting agencies.
• Provide occasional field support during construction.
• Review and approve drawings and submittals.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE, ASCE, ACI, and local codes.
