Job summary

Powerserve Technologies is seeking a Substation Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to focus on civil/structural design for electrical substations. The role collaborates with electrical engineers and project teams to deliver complete construction-ready designs.

The ideal candidate has a background in civil/structural engineering, 3+ years of relevant design experience, and familiarity with Florida codes and permitting. Remote work from within Florida is supported, with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of civil/structural design experience.
• Proficiency with design tools: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.
• Strong understanding of foundations and site development.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in EPC projects.
• Preferred: experience with substation design or utility infra.

Responsibilities

• Design civil and structural components of electrical substations.
• Prepare and review foundation designs, structural steel layouts, site grading and drainage.
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and code compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, and permitting agencies.
• Provide occasional field support during construction (light travel in Florida).
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE, ASCE, ACI and local codes.
