Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) seeks a Drafter 1,2,3 - Substation to support substation design across projects. You will work with CAD tools, follow standards, and report to the Design Lead while contributing to quality and timely delivery.

This role requires basic CAD knowledge and a willingness to grow in high‑voltage substation design, collaborating within engineering teams and leveraging Aligned design practices.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience in drafting with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
• No experience required for entry level; higher pay with more CAD/design experience.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and email software.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD preferred).
• Willingness to learn major substation components and basic drawing types.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design aspects from project inception to completion on substation projects.
• Utilize CAD design software for substation design.
• Maintain quality control to meet workmanship standards.
• Ensure accuracy of own work and take responsibility for quality.
• Research information in catalogs, specifications and standards.
• Learn and use the document management system and suggest improvements.
• Flag project issues and propose solutions to stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
